World Malaria Day 'Biomedical Photo of the Day'

This image of a mosquito pupa expressing a flourescent marker, taken from a recent paper by Prof Paul Eggleston and colleagues, was chosen by the Medical Research Council as their Biomedical Photo of the Day for World Malaria Day on 25th April.

The paper, entitled 'Next Generation Site-Directed Transgenesis in the Malaria Vector Mosquito Anopheles gambiae: Self-Docking Strains Expressing Germline-Specific phiC31 Integrase' was published in PLoS One last month by Paul Eggleston, Janet Meredith, Clare McArthur and Ann Underhill.
