Members of the Research Institute for Science & Technology in Medicine gathered for their annual Away Day on 19 July, to hear about the latest developments in research and plans for the future.

Focus this year was on the international agenda for research students and collaboration, the protection of ideas arising from the latest work, research fellowships and the Athena Swan initiative for research careers.

There was plenty of time for discussion, identifying new equipment and facilities to deal with expanding numbers of staff and students.

Despite being a very hot day, clinical and laboratory-based members of ISTM found this a useful forum in which to meet new and current colleagues, as they are dispersed across sites at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, Keele campus and the RJAH Hospital at Oswestry.

The photograph shows all the members who attended, in the courtyard of the Keele Sustainability Hub.
