Best Practice and Quality Standards

Research in the the Institute for Science & Technology in Medicine follows the Keele University Research Governance framework 2005. 

Specifically ISTM research follows the high standards and guidelines set by the UK Medical Research Council, updated in 2012. It builds upon the RCUK policy and code of conduct on the governance of good research conduct, Integrity, Clarity and Good Management (2009) and the work of the UK Research Integrity Office, specifically the Code of practice for research: promoting good practice and preventing misconduct (2009). ISTM follows Keele's policies on Research Data Management and Sharing, including the UK Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council Policy Framework on Research Data.

ISTM has national accreditation and licences for use of human tissues, clean rooms and many other areas of its activity.
