Keele University welcomes students from Brazil and holds many active research links across Brazil ranging from physics to insect ecology.

Keele University has a rich and diverse community of international students from over 100 countries making up 12% of the total student population on campus.  Our World Class campus, the largest in the UK, offers a contemporary learning environment with excellent facilities and a ready-made social life for students who want to get involved.

On-campus accommodation set in beautiful woodland offer the peace and quiet to study whilst an active Students’ Union offers plenty of social activities when you want to relax. There are more than 75 clubs and societies ranging from sports to cultural societies to music appreciation so why not take a look and see what interests you.

Entry Requirements

These qualifications are given as a guideline and all applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.  Some courses require higher scores or particular subject knowledge.  Please check the course pages or get in touch for more information. 

Undergraduate

For entry to Keele’s International Year One
Successful completion of the Certificado de Ensino Médio with a GPA of 7.0 or better

For direct entry to Keele three-year degree courses: 
Successful completion of a recognised International Foundation Programme

IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each test is required.

Please note that some courses such as Medicine require higher scores and additional tests – please see individual course pages or contact Keele International for more information

Postgraduate
Students successfully completing the Bacharel or Licenciado (4 years or more) with a GPA of 7 or better will be considered for taught postgraduate courses at Keele

IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each test is required.

Scholarships

Santander Scholarships
In partnership with Banco Santander, Keele University will be offering 9 postgraduate scholarships to outstanding candidates currently studying at a Santander partner university in South America. Each scholarship is worth £5000 and will be open to students applying to study a taught masters degree in any discipline commencing October 2012 (excludes MRes and Masters by Research).

There is no application form, all eligible students will automatically be considered and scholarships will be awarded to students demonstrating academic excellence.

In order to be considered you must:

Hold a conditional or unconditional offer for study on a postgraduate taught masters degree at Keele University before 30 April 2012

Intend to start your degree course in October 2012

Be resident in one of the following countries and liable to pay fees at the overseas student rate
Eligible countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela


Science Without Borders

Science without Borders is a Brazilian Government scholarship programme to send 100,000 Brazilian students on undergraduate sandwich courses, PhD sandwich courses and full PhDs to study in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and creative industries at universities across the world. From September 2012, the UK will welcome up to 10,000 Brazilian students over the next four years.

Keele has been selected as one of the participating UK universities and is looking forward to welcoming students as part of the Science without Borders scheme.

What subjects does the scheme cover?

The undergraduate subjects the programme is particularly keen to promote include:

Keele International Student Scholarship

Students from Brazil are eligible to apply for the Keele International Student Scholarship (KISS).

The undergraduate KISS is worth GBP2000 towards the cost of the annual tuition fees for the duration of the course.  Students studying a three-year degree can therefore save GBP6000 from the total cost of their degree studies.

The postgraduate KISS is worth GBP3000 towards the cost of tuition and will be deducted from the second instalment of tuition fees.

The Scholarships are awarded to students who can demonstrate excellence in at least two of the following areas:

* Academic qualifications,
* English Language ability,
* Understanding of the course and motivation to study at Keele,
* Extra-curricular or work experience
To apply for the KIS Scholarship you must have applied to Keele and been offered a place to study here.  You must then complete a separate application form (download
KISS Application Form) Applications must have been received and processed before the start of academic year for which the application is made.  KIS Scholarships cannot be awarded to students who have already started their degree at Keele.

* Please note that students studying the 5-year undergraduate degree in Medicine and the 4-year undergraduate degree in Pharmacy are not eligible for this award.
The decisions on Scholarships are made by the International Recruitment Team and their decision is final.


Students applying to courses within Natural Sciences

The Faculty of Natural Sciences offers a £1000 Bursary to all international students at undergraduate and postgraduate level which is deducted from tuition fees. This is a one off payment (not recurring for undergraduates) and applies to students studying in any of the following fields;

  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • Environmental Science
  • Forensic Science
  • Geography
  • Geology
  • Information Systems
  • Mathematics

Students are also eligible to apply for Keele International Student Scholarships. If you are awarded a Faculty of Natural Sciences scholarship and also awarded a KIS scholarship then the Faculty of Natural Sciences Scholarship is counted as part of the KIS scholarship in the first year of study.
