What made you choose to study at Keele University?
I think for me, Keele's dual honours degrees were a big incentive. Besides that, Keele really does have one of the most attractive campuses around.
What do you like best about the university?
The campus environment really sets a fantastic academic mood. I love how approachable the lecturers are, I know that for some being in a new environment and a completely different culture and country might be intimidating at first, but really, everyone is so helpful and friendly it puts you at ease almost the minute you settle here. The facilities have very user-friendly interfaces. Basically, you are provided with everything you need for both a successful scholastic experience and also a social one.
Which clubs or societies have you joined (if any)?
I'm an avid reader of manga so naturally I joined the Keele Animanga Society. I take great delight in our weekly get-togethers and the cos-play socials just tops it off.
Describe your Keele experience so far in 5 words.
A marvellous and entertaining experience.
What piece of advice would you offer to a potential new student from your country who is considering studying at Keele?
Being of Chinese descent, I know that the quality of education plays a focal point in picking a university. Keele offers very versatile degrees and a variety of electives that you could choose from to tailor to your own individual liking. In this highly competitive world it's always good to have an edge that sets you apart from the rest. The student union keeps your calendar filled with great social events year round and the international office offers trips around the UK so that you get to experience the country on a much broader level.
Xixi Li, China, studying BA Media, Communications and Culture & Philosophy
