Introduction from Claire Appleby, Director of Human Resources and Student Services




The Directorate provides a diverse range of services to staff and students here at Keele University and is organised across 4 principal areas of service: Human Resources;Learning and Professional Development, Student  Support and Development and Occupational Health and Safety.

Human Resources - Led by Rachel Adams and responsible for the provision of operational and specialist HR services across the University. Specialist Equality and Diversity services are led separately by Balvinder Everitt and Workforce Planning and Information Services by Stephanie Gerken

Learning and Professional Development Centre – Led by Jackie Potter and responsible for centralised professional development support to all staff groups across the University

Student Support and Development Services – led by Ian Munton and provides student facing support services and works collaboratively with services student support services across the University.

Department of Occupational Health and Safety – led by Ian Williamson who ensures statutory Heath and Safety compliance and provides a range of staff and student facing health support services – including a full staff occupational health service and staff wellbeing facility

The Directorate is responsible also for the provision of the following support services to our staff and student community: Chaplaincy Services, a Day Nursery and an on site Dental Practice

The Directorate works collaboratively across all areas of the University in support of its strategic vision which is headlined at the top of this introduction.

In support of this collaborative approach we have recently established a bi monthly e-bulletin called HRSS Link which is published bi monthly and  headlines key activities and initiatives from all parts of our Directorate.
