I have studied history, sociology and economics in Göttingen, Jerusalem and Hamburg. For my PhD in history I was associated with the University in Freiburg. I came to Keele in autumn 2005.

I am Co-editor of the journal Beitraege zur Geschichte des Nationalsozialismus [Contributions to the History of National Socialism and Researcher for the International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes of the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania.

German occupation policy in Europe, especially in Eastern Europe, history of the extreme Right, Fascism and Nationalsocialism, Holocaust, Eastern European Jewry in the 19th and 20th century, modern history of Lithuania, political extremism and mass violence in central and eastern Europe.

I am happy to supervise Masters- and PhD-students in these research areas.
