Cathal Rogers

Biography

Having completed my undergraduate and master’s degrees at the University of Liverpool, I came to Keele in September 2012. I am currently in the final year of an AHRC funded doctorate, undertaken in collaboration with Staffordshire Record Office.

Research and scholarship

My thesis examines the role of aristocrats and their agents in the nineteenth century growth of industrial towns in Staffordshire. I am specifically examining the impact of the economic and social policies of the dukes of Sutherland and the earls of Bradford on the development of Longton and Walsall respectively.

Teaching

In 2014/5 I am scheduled to assist in the Modern Local History Modules  HIS-10035 and HIS-10036, and on HIS-20081 (Victorian Society) as a sessional tutor.
