MBA (Health Executive): October 2013 start

The MBA (Health Executive) is in many ways our flagship programme, having been running longest and having gained a national and international reputation for high quality, academic rigour and relevance to todays health services.   Recently revised in delivery format to meet the changing needs of the NHS and other systems, the MBA comprises six one-week courses over two years.

  • Health Policy and Strategy
  • Health Economics
  • Human Resource Management
  • Accounting and Financial Management
  • Operations Management Science
  • Research for Managers, Clinicians and Policy-Makers

These are followed by a personal Research Dissertation undertaken over nine/twelve months. The Programme Director is Professor Calum Paton.   Further details are to be found on the University’s Postgraduate Courses pages.

Enquiries can be made through the Programme Administrator, Melanie Shaw.

" When I commenced my MBA I was an experienced HR Director and thought I knew a lot about the NHS.I soon found out via the MBA that I still had a lot to learn!! I really enjoyed the new insights that the Keele academic staff and high quality visiting lecturers from the NHS and wider gave me. I enjoyed the University setting and the "academic rigour" now needed to be brought into discussion and written work - some of which I hope I took back into my NHS workplace. Working with both new NHS and private sector colleagues on the programme gave me fantastic career development , networking and peer group support opportunities - together with a great opportunity via the MBA to visit a comparative healthcare system in the USA. Having joined the Keele Health Alumni Association early on I still feel very much connected to Keele via various annual Public Lectures , Masterclasses , re-unions and social activities. As such I would wholeheartedly recommend the Keele MBA to anyone wishing to widen their knowledge , personal development and career progression in healthcare."
