Using NHS Athens

This is a 1 hour course, aimed at NHS staff and placement students only who want to familiarise themselves with a range of Athens-based electronic resources.

You will learn:

  • What an NHS Athens account is
  • About different types of resources that are available to you
  • How to access good quality NHS-subscribed ejournals and database

  • Medicine Complete
  • Oxford Handbooks Online
  • BMJ Case Reports

This course supports KSF levels IK2 and IK3 as well as RCN Competencies.

Prerequisites

  • Basic mouse and keyboard skills
  • Prior experience of using the Internet
  • Register for Athens on the course or bring your NHS Athens username / password
