Literature Searching Ebsco Databases (Keele)
This is a 2 hour course, aimed at Keele staff and students who wish to conduct health information research.
You will learn how to:
- Clarify a search topic
- Choose appropriate sources for searching
- Devise search strategies
- Search for and retrieve relevant information
Course content
- Problems of identifying health information on the Internet
- Formulating a clinical question
- Evaluating and selecting databases
- Devising a search strategy
- Conducting a search
- Refining a search
- Saving, printing and emailing search results
Prerequisites
- Some basic experience of using a mouse and keyboard
- Some prior experience of using the Internet
- Keele username / password
