Health Essentials Online

This is a 1.5 hour course, aimed at all Health Library users who wish to familiarise themselves with methods of finding web-based health information.

You will learn to:

  • search for health information using reliable sources
  • be aware of key sources that will provide specific types of information
  • assess the quality and reliability of web sites

Course content

  • Problems identifying health information on the Internet
  • Key methods of finding health information
  • Evaluating web sites

Prerequisites

  • Some basic experience of using a mouse and keyboard
  • Some prior experience of using the Internet
