I trained as a physiotherapist at the United Liverpool Hospitals School of Physiotherapy and worked in Liverpool at Walton and Aintree Hospitals and in the domiciliary service. I left physiotherapy to take up a research studentship with Aintree Chest Centre, Liverpool and graduated with a Research MSc in 1994. I then joined the University of Salford as a lecturer in 1992 and continued my association with Aintree Chest Centre for PhD studies and graduated with a PhD in 2002. I joined staff at Keele in September 2001.
My clinical specialist area is in respiratory medicine and I am a member of British Thoracic Society.
Research Interests: Chronic respiratory disease and its management.
