Well done to Abbie Milwain
Abbie, one of our 2nd year Physiotherapy undergraduates, took part in two table tennis tournaments over the summer.
One was individual where she came third and the other was a team tournament.
The individual tournament was the Liverpool Grand Prix playing in the womens band one event on the 17th August coming 2nd in her group, beating 3 players, including the irish number 1 (Ashley Givan), and losing one match 3-2 against the scottish number 1 (Gillian Edwards).
Then playing the Welsh number 4 (Megan Phillips) in the quarters beating her 3-1. Abbie lost in the semi final 3-1 to the eventual winner and Welsh number 3 (Angharad Phillips).
The team tournament was Womens British League, with Abbie playing for her club Burton Uxbridge TTC (a premier division team) on the 28th-29th September. Despite being quite ill, Abbie had a good weekend winning 8 out of 10 matches including beating the English womens ranked number 4 (Karina Le Ferve) 3-1, and the English womens number 6 (Emma Vickers) 3-0, and Guernsey number 1 3-2 (Alice Loveridge).
Her team are currently 3rd in the division after the first weekend playing all the teams again in February.
