Using your telephone handset

Receiving Calls

You can receive incoming telephone calls. Your telephone number is  (01782) 73****,  the actual number will be on a sticker on the wall this is the number that you need to give to friends and family off campus. For friends on campus your internal number starts with a 6**** and the last four digits of your external telephone number.

Voicemail

You also have voicemail which you can access by dialling 81 from your telephone, a message waiting light will illuminate if you have a message waiting.

Making Internal Calls

Just dial the 5 digit extenesion number from your telephone handset.

Making external calls

You can purchase Freewire Top-up Cards from the Student Union or alternatively you can make external calls by first registering with Freewire http://www.freewiretv.com/cheapcheep.html.  You can find out how much your calls cost by checking out the tariff on http://www.freewiretv.com/callrates.html

To make a call dial 80, then the telephone number that you wish to call. You will then be prompted for your Freewire ID or Top Up Card number and then your pin number.

Broken handsets

If you have a broken handset you can get it replaced at the Accommodation Office.

Line problems

Report any problems with your line to  itservice@isc.keele.ac.uk, stating your telephone number, your room number and a brief description of the problem
