Freewire TV & Phone

 

The University provides access to Freewire TV and Telephone on your computer via the WiFi network.

Freewire TV offers 25 channels of live digital TV including the BBC, Channel 4, E4, and some international channels free of charge. There is also an option to subscribe to premium channels.
Freewire TV is only available in the Halls of Residence and watching TV via this service does not count towards your network quota.

Freewire Phone provides free phone calls to other Freewire users and cheap rates to landlines and international numbers. You can use Freewire phone on the wireless network, or anywhere with Internet access. You can also use the telephones provided in your bedroom to call students at other universities, who also use Freewire free of charge, and your friends and families can download Freewire at home to do the same, in a similar way that you can use Skype.


Freewire TV

You must own your own TV licence in order to use Freewire TV.
(You are not covered by your parents' licence at home or a hall licence.
