INFORMATION ABOUT THE HALL ON-LINE QUESTIONNAIRE
WOULD YOU LIKE TO TAKE PART?
As part of our study into the lives of older people living with HIV, we are collecting information about social relationships, daily life, and mental health through this online questionnaire.
ALL QUESTIONS ARE DESIGNED TO BE COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS. NONE OF THE INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE US WITH WILL BE USED TO IDENTIFY YOU OR ANYONE ELSE.
How long will this take? We have tried to make this online questionnaire as simple as possible. But it is likely that filling in this questionnaire will take 30 minutes or more.
Who exactly are we inviting to complete this questionnaire? We are inviting people aged 50 or above, who are living with HIV, to complete this questionnaire.
How will questionnaires be used in the research? The information you and others give us through this online questionnaire will help us to understand the impact of HIV in later life. Along with information from interviews and focus groups, we will summarise our findings in reports, scientific articles, and presentations to professional conferences and community groups. We will post some of our findings on this project website so that members of the wider community can learn about what we found. We will also be holding a conference in the summer of 2013 where we will present our findings to HIV organisations and community groups, and to people living with HIV.
What are the benefits of completing the questionnaire? There are no guaranteed benefits to you of completing this questionnaire. But many people enjoy contributing to research designed to improve the lives of people in their own communties. Others find it interesting to learn about how research is done.
Support: Some people may experience distress when completing questionnaires related to living with HIV. If this happens to you, please consider contacting services or groups that can help you, such as those listed here. This link also includes organisations for older people and for people living with HIV. You may also choose to consult your GP.
This on-line questionnaire will take 30 minutes or more to complete. By clicking on the ON-LINE QUESTIONNAIRE link below, you confirm that you have read the information on this page. By providing information through this on-line questionnaire, you consent to the use of that data by the HALL research team. Many thanks for taking part.
Whom can I contact for more information or to lodge a complaint? If you have any questions about the project, please email Dana Rosenfeld at d.rosenfeld@keele.ac.uk or Kelly Prince at k.l.prince@keele.ac.uk. If you remain unhappy about the research and/or wish to raise a complaint about this questionnaire or the research more generally, please email Nicola Leighton, who is Keele University’s contact for complaints regarding research, at n.leighton@keele.ac.uk
