For Communities
The Sustainability Hub is a centre dedicated to supporting outreach in sustainability and learning about the world we live in. The Hub hosts numerous public talks, activities, open days and projects aimed at informing the public and community about important developments, research and issues in sustainability.
How will I know when events are happening?
Events are advertised on the events page and on the calendar. We also keep people informed through our Facebook page. You can tell us to add you to our email list to be informed when talks and events are happening by contacting us on keelehub@keele.ac.uk or 01782 733555.
How can I get involved?
You can come along to our events or participate in one of our projects.
Our Grey Matters project is a membership project aimed at people aged 55+ which hosts social events, workshops and activities based around gardening, sustainable living and the planet.
The Swish Roadshow is a travelling event and resource where people can swap unwanted clothes. The events are usually hosted by community groups or schools with a bank of clothes and clothes rails donated by the Hub and some information on reusing and recycling clothes to get the event going. Groups use the event to raise money, through sale of refreshments or ticket sales. We hope that groups use the funds to support a visit to the Hub, or a sustainable activity, but it is really up to the group. When the event is over simply give us a bag of clothes and the rails back ready for the next group to use.
