Green Campus
We are fortunate to have a 617 acre site which, as well as providing a very pleasant and green environment, has a wealth of biodiversity and resources which make it an excellent place to explore opportunities for sustainable initiatives.
We encourage students, staff and visitors to get involved with the sustainability agenda and now have a scheme where students can grow their own food on campus through the Student Eats project. We also have a small allotment scheme which is open to staff, students and members of the public.
We have an arboretum with a National Collection of flowering cherries and we encourage visitors to visit the campus and follow self-guided walks around the campus buildings and the extensive lakes and woodland beyond Keele Hall.
In addition, we are exploring how the campus can be self-sufficient in energy terms and we are aiming to have reduced our carbon emissions by 34% by 2020.
