Employability
The increasingly important area of sustainability and green technology is evolving and offers potential for students with the right skills. Our education programmes offer opportunities for students to complete projects with external partners and potential employers and give valuable experience, whether this is in an industrial or commercial setting or working with people.
I believe the skills I gained at Keele will give me an edge in the job market over other university graduates.
Still, with many graduates now leaving university into an ever increasingly competitive job market, quite often, this education is not enough. With more graduates and experienced potential staff to choose from employers are looking for more.
You need a job to get experience …and experience to get a job…
Employability skills often involve much more than the knowledge in the course itself and at Keele we offer a range of activities, courses and experiences that can not only give you a taste of a career you might fancy, but also give you that edge you need to stand out. This can be done through placements and other projects such as Destination Green.
Enterprise skills are important advantage whether you are starting a business or working for an employer. You can gain enterprise experience by taking part in entrepreneurship modules or taking part in one of our enterprise schemes such as SPEED. For more information contact the Student Enterprise Manager, Dee Frankish.
