Order of Place in Processions
On all academic ceremonial occasions within the University the following shall be the order of place in processions:
The Chancellor
The Vice-Chancellor
The Pro-Chancellor
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost
The Deputy Pro-Chancellors
The Treasurer
The Deans of the Faculties
The University Secretary and Registrar
The Council
The Pro Vice-Chancellors
The Professors
The Director of Commercial and Business Engagement
The Director of Estates and Development
The Director of Finance and IT
The Director of Human Resources, Organisational Development and Student Support
The Director of Marketing and Communications
The Director of Planning and Academic Administration
The Emeritus Professors
The Readers
The Senior Lecturers
The Chaplains
The Senior Teaching Fellows
The Senior Research Fellows
The Lecturers
The Teaching Fellows
The Research Fellows, the Junior Research Fellows
Support Officers and Administrative Assistants (or equivalent)
The President and the Vice-President of the Students’ Unions
The order of procession within classes is based on seniority.
The Procession enters in reverse order and leaves headed by the Chancellor, who is always preceded by The Mace.
