Medical aid, accidents and incidents

First Aid staff will be on duty throughout the ceremonies and will be stationed in the foyer area of The Chapel. Please alert an usher or other member of the Security staff if you are in need of assistance. Should an accident, theft or other incident occur on the University premises, please report it without delay either to the Security Office or to one of the reception desks (located either in the Darwin Building or the Chancellor’s Building).

Lost property

Should you lose any item during the day, please contact the staff in the Security Office (tel 01782 733004) situated within the 24-Hour Reception, Darwin Building for assistance. Any items found will be retained for a period of one month.

Emergency procedures

In the unlikely event of an emergency, you will be advised, by public announcement, to leave the Chapel. You should leave the building as quickly as possible (ushers will assist) using the nearest or least-congested fire exit.  Once outside, please congregate at the ‘Assembly Point’ situated on the large paved area at Union Square (by the shops). Ushers/Security staff will assist and while speed is required, please exit as directed.
