Keele Postgraduate Association - KPA
The KPA is an independent body established by the Charter of the University in 1962; we are a postgraduate union and independent from the KUSU Students' Union.
Representation
The KPA exists for the promotion of the general interests of postgraduate students and to afford a recognised channel of communication between postgraduate students and the University authorities.
The KPA relies on the support of postgraduates to keep going. The KPA provides support and representation via its active committee made up of Postgraduate students. We work voluntarily in various roles and strive to ensure that the organisation is representative of the postgraduates of today and that we properly represent postgraduates, offer vital support and information, and help oversee a clubhouse with food, drink & entertainments for postgraduate and mature students.
As a representative association, we operate by a Constitution approved by the University. If you have any questions on the KPA's constitution, you can contact any member of the committee for more information.
The KPA Clubhouse
The KPA Clubhouse, located on the edge of Horwood Hall, is a private club open exclusively to all postgraduates and university staff who are registered members. It has all the amenities of a licensed bar, including a pool room, and serves great hot and cold food at lunchtime and evening every weekday at prices to suit a student budget. The Clubhouse is also home to a number of guest ales, and has been so successful that we have won two CAMRA awards (and feature in the prestigious Good Beer Guide 2007), demonstrating our consistency and commitment to quality. We also serve lots of hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks.
Events
We regularly events all year round in the clubhouse and we look forward to seeing you there. You might even become a regular at our Tuesday night quiz, at Folk Club whose members play at the Clubhouse on Thursdays, or partake of our impromptu barbecues!
