Keele is at the forefront of environment & sustainability research across a wide range of disciplines. Within the Faculty of Natural Sciences, this includes staff within Life Sciences, Chemistry, and Earth & Environmental Sciences and Geography.
An exciting campus development is the Keele Hub for Sustainability, which when complete will provide an exciting resource and alternative technology demonstrator for universities, researchers, local communities, schools, national and international experts to learn more about sustainability education and research in sustainable living.
- Reconstruction of Quaternary Environmental Change (Dr Katie Szkornik)
- high-resolution shelf-sea palaeoceanography, marine palaeoecology and geochronology during the Holocene and late-Holocene (Dr Alix Cage)
- terrestrial and wetland soils biogeochemistry; greenhouse gas emissions from soils; wetlands restoration; soil fertility. (Dr Sami Ullah)
- Green Chemistry (Prof Mark Ormerod)
- Sustainable energy, windfarms and nuclear test ban monitoring (Prof Peter Styles)
