Applied & Environmental Geophysics

I was appointed as a Lecturer at Keele University in February 2006. Previously I worked as a research fellow at Liverpool University and as an Environmental Project Geophysicist within Reynolds Geosciences Ltd. My first degree, BSc (Hons) Geology was obtained from Royal Holloway College, London (1996) and my industry-funded PhD from Heriot-Watt University (2003), under the supervision of Prof. Patrick Corbett and entitled: Data acquisition, integration and visualization of 3D meso- to macro-scale sedimentary architectures of petroleum reservoir outcrop analogues.
I have diverse areas of research, including engineering, environmental geology and geoscience, applied near-surface geophysics (including forensics), quantitative sedimentology, spatial data analysis, visualisation and virtual outcrops, petroleum reservoir modelling and military geology and archaeology. Such diverse interests allow me to investigate a variety of research and student projects which enriches my teaching. I am part of the Applied & Environmental Geophysics Group and Research Institute for the Environment, Physical Sciences and Applied Mathematics (EPSAM)
