Professor Peter Styles has been the guest of the British Ambassador to Ukraine, Mr Simon Smith, as part of a UKTI initiative and the Director of the British Council in Ukraine, Mr Martin Dowie. Together with Dr Nick Riley, MBE, of the British Geological Survey, Professor Styles has been speaking at a series of seminars aimed at increasing public understanding of unconventional gas.

Professor Peter Styles was part of an expert panel that has produced a report for DECC following the earthquakes near to Blackpool last year. The panel concluded that gas extraction should be allowed to continue subject to restrictions.
