The Falklands War 1982 and its aftermath This project examines how members of the British Parachute Regiment and their family members recall their experiences of the Falklands war and its aftermath. A British Academy Small Grant is funding interviews with veterans and relatives of soldiers killed and archival work as the archives open after 30 years. The research examines memories and commemoration of the war, as well as the many impacts involvement with the war has had. |

Police Reform in the Balkans Examinations of the process of statebuilding in the Balkans, particularly Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro. Dr Ryan recently advised and edited Montenegro's Police Reform Plan on behalf of the Oganization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE). |
