Roy Fisher Prize
The Roy Fisher Prize for Poetry is a poetry pamphlet prize for current students of Keele University. It is endowed by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. The endowment lasts for the ten years of her Laureateship - 2010-2020, and is named in honour of Roy Fisher, the Midlands poet who has a long association with Keele University.
The 2011-12 Prize
The winner of the 2011-12 Prize has been announced: Congratulations to Lauren Bolger, of whom the judges said "She has an eerie ability to keep sound and sense within uneasy touching distance, in a poetry whose searching and experimental nature seems very appropriate for a prize bearing Roy Fisher’s name.”
A pamphlet of Lauren's work will be published by Long Face Press in early 2012, and there will be a launch event at Keele to celebrate. Details will follow.
