Programme Guide
You can study for an M.A. Creative Writing full-time or part-time. MA courses start in late September. Under some circumstances, you can start in January - ask for details.
Modules
All writers on the Keele M.A. take a compulsory core module - The Writer as Critic, The Critic as Writer, the purpose of which is to locate your writing in a cultural and critical context.
This Module runs in the Autumn Semester.
You then choose two optional modules, one of which will be your current (or eventual) specialism. Currently, the available modules are
- Writing Poetry (runs in Autumn)
- Writing Fiction (runs in Spring)
- The Writer in the Community and the Culture (runs in Spring)
- Life Writing (runs in Spring)
The Dissertation-level work is your Portfolio - a substantial piece of publication-ready work. You can start working towards this from the outset of your course via tutorial supervision.
