Registering : Level II electives for Level III students
You may be allowed to proceed into Level III study, provided you have failed no more than 15 credits of level II modules and you have passed all of your level I modules.
If this applies to you, in early September you will receive final confirmation in your progression email that you are allowed to proceed into level III (after the re-assessment period in August)
If you are proceeding into your Level III with a level II module outstanding you will either have to take re-assessment in your failed level II module (you are allowed up to 3 attempts in total) or you may be able to select a new level II elective module to take and pass during your level III studies. Please see below.
If you have failed a level II Compulsory or Option module. You must take re-assessment in your failed module.
If you have failed a level II Approved Programme Elective or Free-standing Elective we will assume that you will take re-assessment in your failed level II elective module (you are allowed up to 3 attempts in total) but if you wish you can choose to register for and take a different level II Approved Programme or Free-standing elective during your Level III study. It will be your responsibility to contact the Electives Office to register for an appropriate elective module if you decide to take another module. If you choose to take a different level II elective, we would also strongly recommend that you choose one from the Autumn semester.
If you do not pass your outstanding level II module during your Level III study there may be an impact on your final degree classification.
There will be a number of opportunities for you to register for a new level II elective as follows
- Before the start of academic year 2011/12
- In your first week
- Post arrival – After 28th September 2011
- Finding out about the elective modules allocated to you
- Any Questions?
