Before being appointed to Keele University as Geography PGCE Course leader, Debbie Moss had extensive experience of teaching Geography in a wide range of schools and contexts, both primary and secondary. She began her career teaching humanities in a middle school in north- east London, and was head of a large Geography department in a multi cultural school in west London with responsibility for environmental education and had been responsible for establishing links with primary schools in the area of humanities. After moving to Nottingham she continued to teach Geography but was also appointed as a Teacher Trainer in a large comprehensive school which had partnerships with Nottingham University, Loughborough University, and Notting Trent University. She was also and Gifted and Talented Co-ordinator and has a an interest in this area of education.

Debbie has a special interest in the future of Geography as a subject in school and concerns over its declining status. She is concerned to develop geographical education which 're-presents' Geography as a subject, raises the profile of the student' voice and contributes to the current debates concerning education of pupils in the 21st century, especially with regard to Citizenship.

In December 09 Debbie graduated as a Fellow in Holocaust Education at The Imperial War Museum after successfully completing the Fellowship in Holocaust Education programme 2008/9. In 2010 she hopes to begin her EdD.
