Biography

Dave is a senior lecturer in the Education Department researching most recently into the use of interactive whiteboards in schools and higher education. He has also produced many ICT resources for use in secondary mathematics classrooms, most recently the years seven to nine resource EXP Maths which is specially designed for use with interactive whiteboards.

He taught mathematics in two schools in Staffordshire, Cheadle High School (1976 - 1981) and Graham Balfour High School (1981-1987) finishing as Head of Mathematics. He has worked at Keele since 1987 and from 1996-2002 was Programme Leader for Initial Teacher Training at Keele . He was awarded an Excellence Prize in the International Competition Operation "Success Stories (version 2)" organised by the World Conference Computers in Education (1995) for "Body measurements, databases and spreadsheets in the Mathematics Classroom". He is the organiser of the Sharing Experience Group at ICME-11 (http://icme11.org/node/669) in Monterrey, Mexico in July 2008 and is the commissioning editor of Keele Mathematical Education Publications (KMEP).
