Robin Bladen- Hovell obtained his BSc. from University College of Swansea and his MA from The University of Manchester.

He has been lecturer and senior lecturer at the University of Manchester.  He was Managing Editor of The Manchester School 1994 - 1997 and is currently an Associate Editor.

His research interests are in international macroeconomics, financial liberalisation and development, and the determinants of training.
