Welcome to Criminology at Keele

Keele pioneered the teaching of criminology at undergraduate level and was the first University to offer criminology as an undergraduate subject in the UK.  The programme is one of the strongest and most successful in the country.

Criminology is taught in the School of Sociology & Criminology by a large group of active criminological researchers who specialise in areas such as policing, prosecutions, prisons, punishment and community safety, as well as criminological theory, research methods, comparative criminology and the history of crime and punishment.

Criminology at Keele brings together a substantial group of active teachers and researchers.  As teachers, we are members of the Criminology group in the School of Sociology and Criminology

As active researchers and PhD supervisors, we are all members of the Centre for Criminological Research in the Institute for Law, Politics and Justice.
