The Centre for Applied Entomology and Parasitology (CAEP) is a leading research group in the Research Institute for Science and Technology in Medicine (ISTM) at Keele University that offers opportunities for research, training (PhD, MPhil, MSc and MRes) and worldwide collaboration. We run a taught MSc course on Molecular Parasitology and Vector Biology (a number of Keele International Student Scholarships for a part-fee reduction are available to students from some countries) and a MRes course in European Scientific Research Training (part-fee reductions and European graduate scholarships are available).

We are now running a European Union Marie Curie Initial Training Network (NEMO) on protective immune modulation in warm water fish by feeding glucans.

Applications are invited for a funded PhD studentship on "Semiochemical management methods for western flower thrips". The application deadline is 15 September 2010.

The areas we study include: carp diseases and immunity; malaria, mosquitoes and man; thrips; and sandflies and Leishmania.
