Disability Link Officers
Each school/department appoints a Disability Link Officer whose responsibilities include:
- Being the main link between Disability and Dyslexia Support Services and your programme of study
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring that sensitive disability-related information is shared in an appropriate manner
- Sharing disability-related information with staff who need to know in order to ensure all of your support is in place, for example lecture notes and booklists provided well in advance, extra time for class tests, modified materials etc
- Dealing with day to day enquiries on disability-related issues
- Providing guidance on prompt sheets if this adjustment has been authorised by Disability and Dyslexia Services
- Assisting with meetings to organise your Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan link to Health and Safety page
- Ensuring exam arrangements are in place for class tests
Disability and Dyslexia Support Services communicates all of your disability-related information and your support needs through E Vision to the appropriate Disability Link Officers. You can view all of your agreed support needs recommendations through your E Vision account.
At your first appointment with us, we will tell you who your DLO(s) is.
