Clinical Trials Unit (CTU)

Keele Clinical Trials Unit is a multidisciplinary team, led by Dr Ivonne Solis-Trapala, working in partnership with clinical colleagues to provide professional services to investigators conducting research. The CTU specialises in the development and delivery of high-quality multicentre clinical trials, designed to test new treatments and therapies, and other high-quality clinical studies, including large cohort studies. Our mission is to provide support and expertise to researchers for the development and conduct of high-quality, patient-centred health research, for the benefit of patients and communities.  Our research is carried out in primary and secondary care settings with the aim of improving patient care and delivery within the NHS. Keele CTU was established in 2012 and received full registration status from the UK Clinical Research Collaboration registered CTU network.

Our vision is to be a nationally leading Clinical Trials Unit recognised for its delivery of innovative and efficient health research, from inception to completion, meeting the diverse needs of patients. We achieve this by:
