Prunus 'Shirofugen'
Introduced around 1900. The flowers are double, pale pink to start with, becoming white with age. They are borne on long stalks in late April and hang in loose bunches or corymbs, closely packed along the branch.
The early leaves, which emerge with the flowers, are a bronze-green colour, becoming bright green as they mature. The autumn colours consist of deep oranges and coppers. It forms a flat-topped wide-spreading tree to 10m.
