prunus autumnalis

Keele University Arboretum

Prunus 'Pink Perfection'

Introduced comparatively recently in 1935, it is thought that one of its parents is ‘Kanzan’. It has bright pink double flowers up to 40mm across on long drooping stalks in April and May. The young foliage is a bronze colour, contrasting well with the flowers. It has a rather wide-spreading habit, growing to 8m high by 8m across.
