Prunus 'Matsumae-beni-yutaka'
Mr Masatoshi Asari selected in 1961 a cherry with deep red double flowers from seedlings of a hybrid between a double-flowered cherry and Prunus 'Matsumae-ryuun-in-beni-yae'
Medium size tree bearing huge clusters of highly fragrant, large, white semi-double flowers maturing to soft pink with age; late spring - early summer.
