Prunus 'Hiyodori-zakura'
The Hiyodori is a noisy thrush-like Japanese bird. The Cherry is rarely seen. Name appears first in 1695.
[Prunus serrulata f. longipedunculata Miyoshi 1916]
It is a narrow vase-like tree c.4 m high. Pubescent peduncles and pedicels.
Forms in the heart of its flower a second storey flower that only opens days after the main flower.
