Prunus cerasus 'Rhexii' - Sour Cherry
This is a very ancient cherry species in this country, even warranting a mention Gerard’s Herbal of 1597. The pure white double flowers, up to 25mm across, are born on 25mm long stalks or pedicels in clusters of 3 or 4 from April through to May.
The leaves are dark, glossy green. The tree is very hardy and grows to 10m with an 8m spread.
