Prunus 'Accolade' (ex Miss Baring)
A cultivar of Prunus 'Accolade', found in the garden of Miss Baring (of the Baring's Bank family) in Hampshire and which was known to flower consistently in the autumn as well as in the spring.
Chris Sanders obtained grafting material of this tree through the nurseryman Robin White. Scions grown on at Bridgemere Nurseries (Woore, Shropshire, UK) and at Tonbridge in Kent have never (yet) flowered in the autumn! Prunus 'Accolade' was seed-raised by Knapp Hill Nurseries and released in 1952. This cultivar may be one of the original batch of seedlings which differs slightly from the normal 'Accolade'.
