Aims
This module is the establishing step of the Enterprise and the Future of Work pathway. It aims to enhance the student awareness of global challenges and the skills needed to develop their professional profile in order to gain, secure, change jobs and create opportunities throughout their career in the contemporary world. It invites students to engage with enterprise by focusing on live case studies in order to explore ways in which enterprise can enhance and address global challenges positively. Through experiential learning the module aims to foster a range of skills in enterprise, professional development and employability that will be developed further in the subsequent pathway modules at levels 5 and 6.
Intended Learning Outcomes

- 24 hours of compulsory online and offline sessions (e.g. lectures/seminars/workshops)- 126 hours of independent study including group work, assignment preparation, weekly research tasks
Description of Module Assessment
1: Group Project weighted 40%Digital projectThe project will take the form of a digital project. The format of the project will be negotiated with students on the module. Students will work in small groups to develop their output. An indicative length for the output such as a video will be 15 minutes.
The project will involve students working together to produce a digital media piece on an Enterprise and Future of Work topic.
The grade for this assessment will be split equally between: (a) the individual contribution to the project which will be summarised in an individual statement of 200-250 words, and (b) the group exhibit as a whole. This is to address both the individual and the group sides of the project, as well as both the content and project-management dimensions of the assessment.
2: Reflective Analysis weighted 60%Reflective report looking at the future of work and how you fit into itStudents will identify and explore a future of work area or sector. They will then identify the skills, competencies and mindsets that will be required in this area or sector and explain how you will develop and acquire them.
