Through a critical and reflective approach, this module seeks to strengthen student knowledge of business and management in contemporary organizations. Students will be required to explore key texts, theories and ideas, in relation to their own experiences as students, employees and consumers. In particular, the module aims to facilitate understanding of the application of theory to organizational practice.
Aims
This module seeks to strengthen student knowledge of business, management and organizations. It emphasises a critical and reflective approach in consideration of contemporary issues. Students will have to draw on and reflect upon their own experiences of organizations and share them with peers during group discussions.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Group Report weighted 50%2000-Word Group ReportStudents work in groups to critically analyse and reflect on two contemporary issues (practices) in an industry of their choice and submit a 2000-word group report or 15-minute PowerPoint presentation. The report/presentation will include peer assessment of individual roles. The group will account for 40%, while the peer assessment will account for 10%.
2: Reflective Analysis weighted 50%1,000 word reflective portfolioIndividual portfolio of 1,000-word reflective essay. Students will reflect on their experience and how the module has impacted or shape their thinking about contemporary issues discussed. The reflection will also include the group project.
