Description for 2022/23

The module describes, analyses and evaluates current practices and developments in employee resourcing and development. The part on resourcing looks at the recruitment and release of individuals from organisations, as well as the management of their performance, attendance and sensitive employment issues. The part on development focuses on the human resource development function in organisations, the role of training in skills development nationally and internationally, and the importance of employability skills in the labour market.

Aims
This module aims to provide learners with a rigorous framework of knowledge and understanding concerning employee resourcing and development.

Description of Module Assessment

1: Report weighted 50%
2,000-2,500 word report
The report will require students to demonstrate a broad understanding of the first part of the module content.

2: Open Book Examination weighted 50%
28 hours online take away examination
The exam will assess the later parts of the module and it will have a choice of questions, of which two must be attempted. This is a take-away exam which will be available on KLE for 28 hours to answer and submit the answers via Turnitin. Although students have significant time to complete and submit answers, it is expected that most students will spend no more than 2 hours. Answers should be as accurate and concise as possible.
