This module is intended to provide a broad introduction to legal processes as they affect the delivery of social work services. The module will provide the necessary background knowledge for the study of law in the context of services to children and families and to adults, which is taught in the following semester and developed at Level 5. This module meets the requirements set by the professional and regulatory bodies.
Aims
This module aims to provide students with an introduction to the complex relationship between law and practice in social work by examining the sources of law and the formal operation of the judicial system in the UK.
