Successful completion of 120 credits of the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy at Level 5, normally at Keele University.
This module forms part of the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme at Keele which is an innovative, integrated programme which prepares the graduate for clinical practice in changing health and social care settings. The module builds on content introduced and developed in Years 1 and 2 and develops further the student's professional practice. The programme reflects the shifting emphasis away from increasing the quantity of care towards enhancing the quality of care, moving away from a medical disease model towards a health model based on personal responsibility and prevention of disease. The student will study in campus based settings and a variety of practice settings. During the Practice Experience modules students will be supported by experienced Practice Educators who will assess the practice component of the programme. Graduates of the three year programme are eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Aims
To develop knowledge and skills first introduced in Professionalism and Effective Communication (PEC) and developed during practice experiences. To enable the student to develop, enhance, and reflect upon their current and future personal and professional practice.
