The module describes, analyses and evaluates current practices and developments in employee resourcing and development. The part on resourcing looks at the recruitment and release of individuals from organisations, as well as the management of their performance, attendance and sensitive employment issues. The part on development focuses on the human resource development function in organisations, the role of training in skills development nationally and internationally, and the importance of employability skills in the labour market.
Aims
This module aims to provide learners with a rigorous framework of knowledge and understanding concerning employee resourcing and development.

Description of Module Assessment
1: Essay weighted 50%2,000 word essayThe essay will require students to demonstrate a broad understanding of the first part of the module content.
2: Exam weighted 50%24 hours online take away examinationThe exam will assess the later parts of the module and it will have a choice of questions, of which two must be attempted.
