Ability Tests

Ability tests usually take the form of multiple choice questions taken with strict, and extremely challenging time limits. While practising tests will not improve your underlying ability, practise and familiarity can significantly improve test performance. Various information is available in our Resource room to help you prepare for ability tests. In addition, the following links contain examples of tests.

Take a test in the style of an online interview www.shlquestionnaires.com/2500
SHL offer students the opportunity to take a range of psychometric tests. The current test uses questions that you will find used in selection and promotion programs. Organisations use these tests to assess job candidates against a set of 'behavioural competencies' that are relevant to that job, to determine how well the candidate 'fits' the role. These tests are similar to a very popular method of interviewing called Competency-Based Interviewing. The tests will therefore give you valuable experience of the type of questions that they may encounter in an interview. The test is not timed but should take around 20 minutes. Go to the above website for further details (31/05/11).
